The Rules of "The League"...
The rules of the league are clear and simple, although different to any other fantasy league...
Firstly, no player can be owned by more than one "League" club. Squads are decided at 'The Draft' which will take place approximately ten days before the first fixture of the season, and any remaining players will be placed on the transfer list. Rather than devise a winner through accumulation of points over a season, the points you accrue weekly will be compared to that of your opposition in "The League" fixtures. Depending on the outcome of these fixtures, you will be awarded; Win = 3pts; Draw = 1pt; Loss = 0pts...
For example:
Week One:
Darby's Army 24pts v Jack's Team 18pts
3 Points 0pts
*****
Secondly, how you can earn points, and how you can lose them during a week...
Goalkeepers: Clean Sheet = +3pts
EACH goal conceded = -1pt
*****
Defenders: Clean Sheet = +2pts
*****
Defs/Mids/Attackers: Assists = +1pt
Goal = + 3pts
*****
Man of the Match = +3pts
*****
Team Captains = Double Points
*****
Player is Yellow Carded = -1pt
Player is Red Carded = -3pts
*****
Next is a VERY important one, if we are to go about this league in a civil(ish) manner...
TRANSFERS:
Okay then, in 'The League', there are no transfer windows. Each player may submit one transfer request per week with another player, but it must be requested by both parties to be confirmed.
If you choose to transfer a Free Agent (i.e. because of injury), your current player will then obviously be up for grabs for a transfer to another club at any time. For example if someone like Van Persie, gets injured for a month, and nobody is willing to trade, you may want to swap him for a Free Agent, but at the risk of having him stolen straight away for some shit Cardiff benchwarmer someone has been stuck with.
And I reiterate, IF A PLAYER SUDDENLY BECOMES AVAILABLE DURING THE REAL LIFE TRANSFER WINDOW, IT IS THE FIRST TO CONTACT ME BAGSYING HIM!! SO WATCH A LOT OF SKY SPORTS NEWS AND KEEP CHECKING YOUR PHONES!!
*****
Last but certainly not least, is the dinero...
Entry to the league is a measly £10, which would make a bag of wank jackpot, so each week £1 per team must be tossed into the pot. With a ten team league, over a 38 week season, this equates to £480, which will be devised as follows...
'The League' Champion!! = £380 + The 'Shiva' Trophy
End of Season Piss Up!! = £100
If ANYBODY misses a payment they are yellow carded, two then red carded and thus out of 'The League' for that season. This is only to encourage the continuation of league members participation throughout the duration of the season, so let's not make it a chore and no one wastes their money...
*****
And that's all folks, the whole shebang...Enjoy the 2013/2014 Season!!
